Zachary H. Rankin
Zachary Rankin is an associate attorney in the firm’s San Diego office, where he represents individual and corporate clients in a variety of litigation matters. His primary focus is on the defense of employment cases, which includes litigating wage and hour, harassment, discrimination, and retaliation disputes. Zachary is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association, and admitted to practice in the State of California and the United States District Court for the Central District of California.
Zachary received a merit-based scholarship to attend The University of San Diego School of Law, where he obtained his Juris Doctor in 2017. While in law school, he served as a law clerk for a boutique, downtown San Diego law firm focused primarily on litigating property disputes. He also served as a corporate extern for in-house counsel at a San Diego commercial real estate development company. Prior to joining Pettit Kohn, Zachary served as contract counsel at a San Diego-based mobile infrastructure consultancy company. He also practiced as an associate litigation attorney at a San Diego consumer law firm, where he defended the rights of consumers against unfair and fraudulent business practices.
Prior to law school, Zachary attended Florida State University, where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Political Science.
