Aaron D. Burden is an associate in Pettit Kohn Ingrassia Lutz & Dolin’s San Diego office. He focuses his practice on business litigation as well as professional liability matters, representing a wide range of professionals against claims of malpractice and intentional torts.

Prior to joining Pettit Kohn, Aaron Burden was an associate medical malpractice defense attorney, representing physicians, healthcare professionals, and medical treatment facilities in complex matters of civil and professional liability in state and federal court. Previously, Mr. Burden served as General Counsel for a Southern California nonprofit social welfare organization, where he litigated matters of public and constitutional law before the California Courts of Appeal and the California Supreme Court.

Mr. Burden earned his Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law, where he served as the president of the Military Bar Association and earned a pro bono service recognition award. Prior to law school, he graduated magna cum laude from the University of California San Diego, where he earned a dual degree in Communication and Political Science.

Prior to entering the legal profession, Mr. Burden served in the United States Navy as a Naval Aircrewman and special operations photojournalist where he led special operations deployments to Iraq and the Philippines, as well as a humanitarian mission to Indonesia in response to the 2009 Sumatra earthquakes.

Mr. Burden is admitted to practice before all courts in the State of California, as well as the United States District Courts for the Central and Southern District of California. He is a member of San Diego County Bar Association, San Diego Defense Lawyers, and the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel. In his spare time, Mr. Burden loves to spend time with his wife and four boys, traveling, exploring Southern California, and coaching youth sports.
