Jake Howell is an associate in Pettit Kohn Ingrassia Lutz & Dolin’s San Diego office and focuses his practice on business litigation and professional liability matters.

Jake was born and raised in Branchburg, New Jersey. He graduated from Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey where he ran Division I track and field while graduating summa cum laude from the honors school with a major in Business Administration and a Concentration in Accounting. He then obtained his Juris Doctor degree from The University of Southern California, where he also earned a Business Law Certificate. Jake excels in his understanding of complex business law principles, having earned high honors in Business Organizations and the American Jurisprudence award in Mergers and Acquisitions (award given to the student earning the highest grade and rank in the class). During law school, Jake was also a teacher’s assistant for an undergraduate law course and a member of USC Gould’s Hale Moot Court Honors Program.

Prior to litigating in southern California, Jake practiced in New York City at an Am Law 100 firm, where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions, private equity fund formation, and outside general counsel work for small to mid-sized publicly held companies. He is licensed to practice in New York and California.
