Mariam J. Saleh is an associate attorney in Pettit Kohn Ingrassia Lutz & Dolin’s Employment & Labor practice group, where she represents employers in a broad range of employment litigation matters.

Prior to joining Pettit Kohn, Mariam served as in-house counsel for a nonprofit organization, acting as chief legal advisor to the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer. She also practiced as an associate attorney with a respected San Diego law firm specializing in personal injury matters. In addition, Mariam has served as an adjunct professor at the University of San Diego School of Law, where she taught California Bar Writing.

Mariam earned her Juris Doctor from University of San Diego School of Law, attending on a merit-based scholarship. During her time as a  student, Mariam served on the Executive Board of the San Diego Law Review as a Comments Editor and as Vice President of the Middle Eastern Law Student Association. Her academic excellence led to her appointment as a teaching fellow supporting three faculty members. Mariam gained valuable experience as a judicial extern for the Honorable Jill L. Burkhardt, Federal Magistrate Judge for the U.S. District Court, Southern District of California; as well as a two-year internship with the Center for Public Interest Law.

Following a fellowship with KARAMAH: Muslim Women Lawyers for Human Rights, Mariam was a contributing author to a white paper on Executive Order No. 13769, later submitted as an amicus brief to the U.S. Supreme Court in the matter of Trump v. Hawaii (2018).

Outside of her legal practice, Mariam is a certified Reiki Master and devoted student of yoga.
