Pettit Kohn Achieves Another Defense Verdict for Large Retail Client

On August 22, 2013, Pettit Kohn Ingrassia & Lutz successfully defended one of its large retail clients in a personal injury action in San Diego, California. Plaintiff alleged that she suffered permanent injuries that required extensive surgery due to an alleged dangerous condition on the client’s premises. At trial, Plaintiff offered expert testimony that its client failed to maintain its premises according to industry standards, and asked the jury to return a verdict over a half million dollars. Pettit Kohn argued at trial that its client acted within industry standards and acted reasonably to maintain the subject premises. After a week of testimony and argument, the jury determined that the client was not negligent and that Plaintiff was not entitled to any monetary recovery. Bron E. D’Angelo represented the client on Pettit Kohn’s behalf.
