Pettit Kohn Achieves Trial Win for Large Retail Client
On May 9, 2014, after a two week trial and 45 minutes of deliberation, Pettit Kohn Ingrassia & Lutz secured a defense verdict on behalf of their client in a personal injury case in Riverside, California. On July 26, 2011 plaintiff slipped and fell on the client’s premises. Plaintiff suffered from low back pain as a result of the fall, later claiming related gastrointestinal pain/gallbladder surgery caused by pain medication ingested for her low back pain.
The plaintiff asked the jury to award $3.6 million in total damages after a 2+ hour-long closing argument. In the end, the jury returned a verdict of no liability, finding that our client was not negligent. Andrew Kohn and Cassandra Mougin represented the client on Pettit Kohn’s behalf.
