Pettit Kohn Takes First Place and Raises Over Five Thousand Meals for Feeding San Diego

Pettit Kohn Ingrassia Lutz & Dolin joined the fight against hunger by competing in Feeding San Diego’s annual Food From the Bar fundraising campaign. Pettit Kohn and the local legal community engaged in a friendly competition to volunteer hours and raise money to provide nutritious meals for the San Diego children at risk of hunger.

Pettit Kohn teammates collectively volunteered 50 hours of their time to Feeding San Diego, winning first place for having the most volunteers out of 11 participating law firms and legal organizations. Pettit Kohn team member Sharon Palmer Brownstein, who was named Feeding San Diego’s Top Volunteer for July 2018, continued her passion for the cause by contributing additional hours as well as participating in various Feeding San Diego outreach events.

In addition to volunteering their time, Pettit Kohn helped raise funds to support a total of 5,772 meals. This year, 114 people volunteered 228 hours to the Food From the Bar Campaign, and raised a total of $23,768. Through Feeding San Diego’s efficient distribution model which is focused on reducing food waste, the funds raised help provide 175,000 meals for people in need.

Feeding San Diego’s mission is to lead the local community in the fight against hunger by providing access to food and nutritious meals, as well as raising awareness about food waste and food insecurity.
