Pettit Kohn’s Valerie Garcia Hong Presents at Diversity Career Symposium
On April 13, 2011, Valerie Garcia Hong spoke at Thomas Jefferson School of Law’s Diversity Career Symposium with Aurelia Flores, Senior Counsel for SAIC, and Dave Carothers, Managing Partner of Carlton Disante & Freudenberger, LLP. Valerie discussed pipeline efforts at the high school and college levels to increase diversity in the legal career. She also discussed the value of diverse attorneys in the law practice who are representative of clients, jurors, vendors, and business partners.
The event was presented by Black Law Student Association (BLSA), Asian Pacific Law Student Association (APALSA), La Raza, and the Women’s Law Association. It was followed by a Post Symposium Blues and Copyright Law Reception with a presentation by Professor K.J. Greene – complete with live music – both blues and jazz.
