Pettit Kohn Ingrassia Lutz & Dolin Secures a $2.1 Million Verdict for an Investor Client

Pettit Kohn Ingrassia Lutz & Dolin attorneys, Douglas A. Pettit and Aaron D. Burden recently obtained a successful outcome for their clients after a San Diego jury found in favor of their investor clients and awarded $2.1 million.  Manuel and Venice Roditi suffered $1.3 million financial losses in accounts managed by New River Investments, an investment advisory firm.  The account was liquidated after New River Investments “shorted” Tesla stock. Individual advisors Alberto Roditi and Guillermo Roditi Dominguez were also named as Defendants.  The jury unanimously found in favor of Manuel Roditi and Venice Roditi, and against all Defendants, on every claim, including Securities Exchange Act violations, and awarded a total of $2.1 million, including in its verdict lost investment monies had the account been properly managed.

Defendants were represented by Kirsten Patzer and Nicole Cocozza of Prince Lobel Tye, LLP, a Boston based law firm and local counsel Kalyan Pokala of Pokala Law APC. The verdict followed a six-day trial in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.
