Pettit Kohn Ingrassia Lutz & Dolin Shareholders Grant D. Waterkotte and Andrew I. Chung will partner with Business and Legal Resources, Inc. (BLR) to present “2020 FMLA Master Class: Arizona – Advanced Skills for Employee Management.” The full day seminar on Tuesday 2/25 in Phoenix, Arizona will teach attendees how to apply essential Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) compliance principles.
Employee leave management presents increasingly complex challenges for HR professionals, who must navigate through a multitude of Department of Labor regulations as well as new federal court rulings on FMLA. Mr. Waterkotte and Mr. Chung, experienced employment and labor law attorneys, will delve into real-life leaves of absence challenges and situations that arise in the workplace. Topics covered include new and existing FMLA regulations, the latest FMLA-related court rulings, and issues involving medical certifications, intermittent and reduced schedule leave, and the intersection of FMLA with other laws such as the Americans with Disabilities Act and state workers’ compensation law.

Grant D. Waterkotte is a shareholder at Pettit Kohn Ingrassia Lutz & Dolin. His extensive jury trial experience and exceptional results led to his induction into the American Board of Trial Advocates. Andrew Chung is a shareholder in Pettit Kohn’s Los Angeles office. He is a successful trial attorney and has represented businesses of all sizes in all areas of employment and labor litigation, including wage and hour class actions. In addition, Andrew represents clients in matters of premises liability, catastrophic injury, products liability, and transportation. His trial experience includes successfully securing a defense verdict for a Fortune 100 company in a premises liability dispute. Andrew has been able to dismiss numerous cases through his law and motion work and has appellate experience in both the California and Ninth Circuit Courts of Appeal.
