Three Pettit Kohn Shareholders Recognized as Top Attorneys by San Diego Metro Magazine
San Diego Metro Magazine released its annual list of “Top Attorneys.” Pettit Kohn Ingrassia Lutz & Dolin is proud to announce that three of its shareholders – Douglas Pettit, Jennifer Lutz, and Shannon Finley – were recognized among San Diego’s top lawyers. Douglas Pettit is a founding shareholder and has extensive trial and litigation experience in the areas of civil litigation, business litigation, and professional liability. He is a widely acclaimed speaker who is frequently invited to speak to private firms, other attorneys, and professional business organizations throughout California, providing guidance on ethics, professional liability, and professional malpractice. Additionally, he serves as a lecturer for the University of San Diego School of Law where he teaches a course in Experiential Advocacy.
Doug has successfully tried over 50 cases in California and his extraordinary record of favorable outcomes and exemplary client service has resulted in recognition by his peers over the years. He was inducted into the American Board of Trial Advocates, a premier national organization comprised of highly accomplished civil trial attorneys who have demonstrated excellent trial skills. In addition, he has achieved Martindale-Hubbell’s highest rating of AV Preeminent for his legal ability and ethical standards and is also a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, an honor limited to one third of one percent of the lawyers in America. He has been selected for inclusion in the San Diego Super Lawyers every year since 2007 and was listed among the Top 10 and Top 50 lists. Jennifer Lutz is a founding shareholder and co-chair of the firm’s Employment and Labor Department. Her litigation career spans over two decades, developing a strong reputation as one of San Diego’s premier and go-to employment law attorneys for both employment litigation and employment counseling. She represents a broad spectrum of clients and prominent companies, defending and advising on their most complex and important employment related legal issues. She has an extraordinary record of favorable outcomes and successes in a variety of cases in state and federal courts and administrative agencies.
Jennifer is a widely sought out author and speaker – frequently invited to provide employment practices and employee management training and guidance on issues such as wage and hour law, employee privacy, and leaves of absence. In addition, she serves as an employment law instructor for the UC San Diego Extension. She has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America for her work in both Employment Law – Management and in Labor and Employment Litigation. Super Lawyers named her as one of San Diego’s Top 25 Women Lawyers in 2020 and she was also included in the San Diego Business Journal’s Best of the Bar and Women of Influence in Law.
Shannon Finley is a shareholder focusing her practice on employment law and personal injury defense. She represents California employers in disputes ranging from single plaintiff wrongful termination cases to complex class actions, and everything in between. She also provides guidance to employers, advising on best practices to avoid lawsuits before they arise. She is a speaker and author on issues that include best hiring practices, wage and hour law, discrimination, leaves of absence, and social media. Shannon was recognized as a “Women of Influence in Law” and also “Leaders in Law” by the San Diego Business Journal and has been included in the Super Lawyers® Rising Stars list since 2019. She was also honored by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch© in 2021 and 2022 for her work in Labor & Employment Litigation.
