Employment Attorneys Shannon Finley and Jennifer Suberlak Lead Sessions at MegaHR Conference

Pettit Kohn Ingrassia Lutz & Dolin employment law attorneys Shannon Finley and Jennifer Suberlak will speak at the 2020 MegaHR Conference in September. This month-long virtual conference is hosted by the San Diego Society for Human Resource Management (SD SHRM) and the Sacramento Area Human Resource Association (SAHRA).

Ms. Finley, Pettit Kohn Shareholder and leader in the firm’s Employment & Labor group, will speak on Wednesday, September 9. Her session, titled “You Can’t Fire Me for That…I’m Off-Duty,” will provide employers and HR professionals with practical strategies to navigate and mitigate the potential risks associated with employee off-duty conduct. The presentation will also address state and federal guidance on the issue.

Ms. Suberlak is a leader in Pettit Kohn’s Employment & Labor group and also serves as the Vice President of Legislation for SD SHRM.  She will speak on Wednesday, September 16, and her session, titled “Workplace Privacy and Considerations During the COVID-19 Pandemic and Beyond,” will explore the pertinent privacy laws and obligations employers must consider as well as best practices for maintaining employee privacy.

The 2020 MegaHR Conference is a month-long virtual summit for California Human Resource professionals. From September 9 through September 30, the conference will feature four live sessions and 20 pre-recorded sessions, allowing attendees to view the program at their own pace throughout the month.
